At the foot of Wawel Hill runs the famous Vistula River (Wisla), beeing with over 1000 kilometers (620 miles) the longest River of Poland. The Vistula River has its sources next to the village of Vistula where the Polish ski jumper Adam Malysz was born. The River runs from the Carpathian Mountains through Cracow and Warsaw and flows into the Baltic Sea nearby the city of Gdansk.
Especially during beautiful sunny days the Cracow people use the Vistula Promenade for longer walks or bike tours, enjoying the marvellous view on the Wawel Hill with its Cathedral and Royal Castle. There are many Boats and Ships equipped with cafes offering daily Boat Trips on the Vistula River.
(This wonderful romatic ballad about the Vistula is of unknown origin.)

Nasza Wisła, modra rzeka, |: niby kwiat :|, I płynie se hen daleko |: w obcy świat. :| I płynie se hen daleko, |: aż w morze, :| Takie czarne niby rola, |: mój Boże. :
3.
Hej, dziewczyno, hej, kalino, |: nie płacz mi, :| I oczkami jak gwiazdkami |: zaświć mi. :| Bo flisowie już wracają, |: waraha, :| A tu echa powtarzają, |: waraha! :
